Hillside

This project involves a complete, energy-efficient refurbishment of a semi-detached 1950s house in Bath. It includes the demolition of an existing garage, replacing it with a two-storey extension and rear terrace, creating a modern three-bedroom home with enhanced living spaces, utility areas, and bathrooms.

The design embraces sustainable materials, proposing bath stone, treated timber cladding, and a durable rubber EPDM roof. A wood-fibre internal insulation system paired with lime plaster ensures a breathable, vapour-open structure for optimal thermal performance.

The project will also address shading and provides a new mechanical ventilation system to prevent overheating while maintaining energy efficiency.

This eco-conscious approach is tailored to the local climate and conservation area regulations, ensuring a harmonious balance between contemporary functionality and environmental responsibility. The refurbishment will deliver a comfortable, sustainable, and visually appealing family home fit for modern living.
